Construction Work

Idi uses drones for the external views, DSLR cameras on gimbals and 360 kit for internal shots. All images are high resolution and can be combined with appropriate sounds or a voiceover as required.

Such a video is undoubtedly the best way for companies to showcase their skills and capacity to potential clients. With our gear you can watch stonemasons working 100ft up on scaffolding as they repair a church spire.

You can get a bird’s eye view of a large loft conversion or extension to reassure the owners living in the house below; or show how a two-tonne glass cap was craned on top of a building.

A 360 video allows you to look around the whole interior of a building such as the internal
scaffolding inside a brick-built cone shown here.

Pre-construction

Aerial images of an empty development site can be used by graphic designers and contractors
when marketing and promoting new buildings, particularly commercial units. We can take raw
footage if required, allowing the client to colour grade and edit as they wish.

We can programme the drone to fly a specific aerial route, track and record this for you so it can be
repeated at any future point in time e.g. To obtain ‘before and after’ images of a development project.

Property maintenance

Drone surveys of rooftops, ridges and high buildings are a cheaper, quick and efficient way of
collecting images for condition survey reports required for:

- Valuations or insurance
- assessing damage
- inspecting repairs
- identifying potential problems
- tracking the source of leaks

Hi-res photos and videos can be studied on the computer screen at your leisure.

The property management company of some apartment blocks wanted an overview of the roof and closer inspection of areas known to be weak spots.

Renovation Projects

The Red House Glass Cone is part of a Grade II* listed building (1076007) on the side of the
Stourbridge Canal, Wordsley.

It was built approx. 235 years ago and stands almost 100 ft high with a diameter of 60 feet.

A major £1.5m renovation project was  undertaken in 2024 when old hard cement pointing was removed from 750m² brickwork and replaced with lime mortar.

Inspired Drone Imaging made several visits as the huge scaffolding network (inside the cone as well as outside) was being erected; during the works and finally filmed the finished project.

Residential projects

Adding an extension or loft conversion to your home is a major undertaking and involves a lot of preparation before the work begins.

The first part will often involve demolition with accompanying noise, mess and upset to the household.

Inspired Drone Imaging has recorded the progress of home renovations such as this example. Like many properties of a similar age, the garage attached to the house is too small for a modern car and has been used for storing a freezer and other items while 2 cars are parked outside.

With a need for a new bathroom and kitchen, the owners moved out during the construction phase and returned to a stunning new kitchen – dining area with bifold doors opening out on to a new raised patio area.

The old garage space was incorporated into the design as a downstairs bathroom and utility area.

Approx 25% more space was added to the house.

We used a variety of equipment to show off all aspects of this construction project. The photos show the extent of the transformation; interactive 360 photos illustrate the interior very well, and the drone video shows the extent of the new roof area.
